“Wow,” Ava said, sounding almost wistful. “Somebody did that.” It was true. This was no natural formation. Sara-Jay glanced around at the other formations. Were they all decorated like this beneath the sediment? Tom walked over, abandoning his drone setup to see what had drawn his two companions to the rocks. Then suddenly, when he had closed about half the distance, he shouted over the com. “Ava!” Sara-Jay turned back to look at the woman who was now standing dead still, shoulders slumped, staring directly at the green circle. “Ava!” Tom shouted again, this time louder, but she didn’t reply. He was almost to her when suddenly the green circle recessed back into the rockface, and the surrounding section began to part from the middle. That brought Tom up short as he and Sara-Jay watched the two sections slide outwards revealing a large oval opening and a chamber beyond. And then Ava screamed.
